Entrance Requirements for the Unique Pathway Programme

BGA is passionate about fostering diversity and providing a personalised education that fits the unique needs of every Learner. We believe that education should be inclusive, empowering, and accessible to all, regardless of background or prior educational experiences. That’s why the entrance requirements for our Unique Pathway (UP) programme are designed to be as flexible as possible, ensuring that every Learner has the opportunity to embark on a transformative learning journey with UP.

Level 3 Entry Requirements

Proof of Completion of International GCSEs or Equivalent

The primary requirement for enrolment in Level 3 of UP is simple: Learners need to provide proof that they have successfully completed their international GCSEs or equivalent, regardless of the school or educational model they were a part of. We welcome Learners from a wide range of educational backgrounds, including traditional schooling, homeschooling, online education, or other learning paths.

For the Business Management, Hotel and Hospitality, and Computing pathways, Learners must have completed six GCSE exams with a minimum grade of C, three of which must include Mathematics, English, and a Science subject. Alternatively, proof of having completed Grade 10 of the American or Portuguese curriculum, or another equivalent qualification, is accepted.

Learners who wish to pursue the Sports & Leisure pathway at Level 4 will first complete a Level 3 foundation year in Business, learning key management principles. Therefore, those beginning in Level 3 and intending to progress into Sports & Leisure must meet the Business GCSE entry requirements listed above. Learners must also have access to a sports facility, club, or sports-related environment in order to complete their practical experience. Level 4 Entry Requirements

For direct entry into Level 4 in any pathway, Learners must hold:

  • A-Levels, a High School Diploma, or an equivalent upper secondary qualification

Learners applying to Level 4 Sports must also demonstrate access to an appropriate training environment.

English Proficiency Requirement for Non-Native English Speakers

To ensure a smooth academic experience, all Learners whose first language is not English are required to complete an English proficiency test as part of the admissions process.

Minimum requirements:

  • B2 or higher for all UP Pathways

We also accept recognised certifications such as IELTS 5.5 or above.

Special Needs Admissions Process

For Learners with special educational needs, families are asked to provide documentation outlining the Learner’s specific requirements before beginning the application. All applicants with special needs must also complete a trial period at one of our Hubs to ensure we can provide the correct support for a successful experience.
