Unique Pathway Experience (UPx) Entrance Requirements
We are passionate about fostering diversity and providing a personalised education that fits the unique needs of every Learner. We believe that education should be inclusive, empowering, and accessible to all, regardless of background or prior educational experiences. That's why the entrance requirements for our Unique Pathway programme are designed to be as flexible as possible, ensuring that every Learner has the opportunity to embark on a transformative learning journey with UPx.
Proof of Completion of A Levels or Equivalent
In addition to being at least 18 years of age, the primary requirement for enrolment in UPx is straightforward: Learners must provide proof that they have successfully completed their A Levels, received their high school diploma, or obtained an equivalent qualification. This applies regardless of the educational model they followed, whether traditional schooling, homeschooling, online learning, or other alternative pathways.
We welcome Learners from a wide range of educational backgrounds. Our inclusive approach is built on the understanding that diversity of experience and learning style enriches the entire community and supports a more meaningful and relevant educational journey.
English Proficiency Requirement for Non-Native English Speakers
To ensure a smooth academic experience, all Learners whose first language is not English are required to complete an English proficiency test as part of the admissions process. This allows us to assess their language skills and provide any necessary support to ensure they can fully engage with the curriculum and succeed in our learning environment.
For admission to the UPx programme, Learners must demonstrate at least a B2 level on the CEFR scale or an IELTS score of 5.5. This requirement helps ensure that all Learners can thrive academically and make the most of their UPx experience.
The minimum requirements are the following:
B1 or higher: Lower Secondary programme (grades 6, 7, and 8)
B2 or higher: IGCSE, A Levels, and UP programmes (from grade 9 onward)
Special Needs Admissions Process
For Learners with special educational needs, we ask families to provide relevant medical documentation that outlines the Learner’s specific requirements prior to initiating the application process. Additionally, all applicants with special needs must complete a mandatory trial period at one of our Hubs. This trial period allows our team to evaluate if our resources can adequately meet the Learner’s needs and to ensure they have the best chance of success in our programme.
