Find out how the British International Curriculum can give you even more opportunities than a Mozambican public education.    ### The Disadvantages of the Mozambican Curriculum Despite many investments made to improve quality of education in Mozambique, Mozambican students who stick to the local curriculums provided within the country face a few disadvantages in comparison to the British International Curriculum:   - **Low quality of education** -Mozambique, like many other African countries, is experiencing a learning crisis. In sub-Saharan Africa, learning poverty—defined as the percentage of children unable to read and comprehend an age-appropriate text by age 10—is estimated to be 89%, according to the World Bank, UNESCO, and other organisations. - **Limited access to education** -Education can be hard to access in Mozambique due to several challenges the education system faces, including management inefficiencies, ongoing conflicts in the north, frequent natural disasters, and increasing socioeconomic vulnerabilities. - **Lack of relevant curriculum** -The curriculum in Mozambique is frequently viewed as outdated and misaligned with the needs of both students and the economy. This misalignment can result in a gap between the skills students acquire in school and those demanded by employers, thereby limiting students' future employment opportunities.   ### British International Curriculum Equivalencies *In Mozambique, public schools follow the Mozambican National Curriculum, which is organised into a 6-6-4 structure. This system includes six years of primary education, six years of secondary education, and four years of higher education.*  | *Mozambican National Curriculum* | *British Curriculum Equivalencies* | | --- | --- | | *Grade 7* | *Lower Secondary (LWS)* | | *Grade 8* | *Lower Secondary (LWS)* | | *Grade 9* | *Lower Secondary (LWS)* | | *Grade 10* | International GCSE | | *Grade 11* | International GCSE | | *Grade 12* | *A Levels* | | *Grade 13* | *A Levels* |   ### Advantages of Studying the British International Curriculum Studying A Levels or International GCSEs through the British International Curriculum in Mozambique could be an ideal choice for you. Here's why:  **Global Accreditation:** A Levels and International GCSEs are globally recognised, not only in Mozambique but also in the UK, USA, Canada, and across Europe. Esteemed universities worldwide accept A Level qualifications, granting you access to a wide range of higher education institutions. According to Cambridge, strong grades in certain A Level subjects can result in up to one year of university course credit in countries like the United States and Canada.  **Flexible Subjects:** A Levels offer flexibility in subject selection, allowing you to choose up to six subjects in Year 11 based on your interests. Unlike other programs such as the International Baccalaureate (IB), there are no set requirements, providing you with the freedom to tailor your studies to your passions.  **Flexible Exam Model:** A Levels and International GCSEs have multiple exam dates throughout the year, enabling you to take exams when you feel ready. This flexibility allows you to schedule exams at your convenience and provides more opportunities to resit if needed.  By choosing the British International Curriculum in Mozambique, you'll embark on a journey of academic excellence and personal growth. Take advantage of the opportunities it can provide for your future success.  - [Learning Model](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/learning-model?hsLang=en) - [Hubs](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/hubs?hsLang=en#main-content) - [Locations](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/hubs?hsLang=en#locations) - [Fees](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/fees?hsLang=en#main-content) - [Mozambique](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/fees?hsLang=en#mozambique) - [BGA Online](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/bga-online?hsLang=en) - [Unique Pathway (UP)](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/unique-pathway-up?hsLang=en) - [FAQs](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/faqs?hsLang=en) - [Academic Equivalencies](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/help/academic-equivalencies?hsLang=en) [![Brave-Generation-Academy\_Logo\_White\_01](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Brave-Generation-Academy_Logo_White_01.png?width=200&height=89&name=Brave-Generation-Academy_Logo_White_01.png "Brave-Generation-Academy_Logo_White_01")](https://bravegenerationacademy.com/?hsLang=en) Av. 25 de Abril, 901 Cave, Esq., 2750-515 Cascais [mailto:contact@bravegenerationacademy.com](mailto:contact@bravegenerationacademy.com) Copyright © 2025, Brave Generation Academy ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "Organization", "address" : { "@type" : "PostalAddress", "addressLocality" : "Cascais, Portugal", "postalCode" : "2750-515", "streetAddress" : "Av. 25 de Abril, 901 Cave, Esq., 2750-515 Cascais" }, "brand" : { "@type" : "Brand", "logo" : "https://bravegenerationacademy.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Asset2Home1.png" }, "description" : "Its mission is to prepare for life: equipping learners with valuable resources, and the knowledge to use them; more importantly, BGA is about the future of today's generations.", "founder" : { "@type" : "Person", "familyName" : "Vieira", "givenName" : "Tim", "jobTitle" : "Founder" }, "name" : "BGA Brave Generation Academy", "url" : "https://bravegenerationacademy.com/" } ```
